GovState Outdoor Track Season Opens Friday - Saturday in Naperville Collegiate Meet -

GovState Head Track Coach John Niendorf taks about the outdoor track season opener this weekend.

"The Friday portion of the meet is just a distance fling so most of the distance runners will be competing in the steeple chase, 1500, 5k, and 10k. We will be trying to get Sophia Flowers qualified for Nationals in the 10k Friday night."

"On Saturday, I'm taking a small portion of the team to the invite portion on Saturday for field, throws, and some sprinting events. Clark Fremouw will be competing in shot, discuss, and the hammer throw. Steven Session will be trying to qualify for Nationals in the high jump. Jayson Wold and Devon Hayes will be trying to hit a personal record in some sprint to mid distance events. Sean O'Brien will be trying to hit a personal record in javelin as well, " said Coach Niendorf.
