Cross Country Teams At Great Lakes Challenge Meet Saturday - Women's Team In National Rankings - (Women receiving votes for top 25 NAIA ranking - first time ever for program)

GovState men's and women's Head Cross Country Coach John Niendorf talked about the competitive field his teams will see this weekend.

"The NAIA Great Lakes Challenge meet, hosted by Aquinas college, will feature 45 NAIA teams at the 17th annual meet. The men's race will have 16 teams ranked in the top 25 or those receiving votes. The women's race will feature 17 teams ranked in the top 25 or receiving votes. Approximately 1,000 runners will compete this Saturday at Riverside Park. I am excited to see how both our team's stack up against the top teams in the country. This will be the first year both our men's and women's teams are in the elite race's maroon division races."

"There is a lot at stake at this meet, and I am confident that our men and women will rise to the challenge. I am looking for my athletes to hit massive personal records this weekend and break a lot of school records as well. This meet will be the biggest meet we go to all season, and I know my athletes are determined to make a statement. It will be an exciting weekend for sure for our teams and the NAIA," said Coach Niendorf.
