GovState 2024-25 Record-Setting Academics For Jaguars - Success Both On and Off The Fields & Courts!
The milestone 10th year of GovState Jaguar Athletics in 2024-25 was a huge success with two teams (Men's Soccer and Women's Basketball) earning CCAC Conference double-double championships and NAIA National Tournament success and four teams (Women's Bowling, Men's Volleyball, Men's Soccer, Women's Basketball) all earning top 25 votes and team recognition during the regular seasons.
GovState Athletic Director and Head Men's Basketball Coach Tony Bates and Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and Student Success Chandra Thompson, released the GSU teams totals and academic records for the recently completed 2024-25 academic year.
*Total: 143/211 = 68% of our student athletes completed the 2024-2025 school year with a 3.0 gpa or higher. 0.05% increase compared to the 2023-2024 school year. (both school records)
"Academic success for our student-athletes doesn't happen by chance—it's the result of intentional teamwork between coaches, staff, and the athletes themselves. We set the expectation early that excellence in the classroom is just as important as excellence in competition."
"Our Jaguars understand that representing GovState means giving their best in every arena. Their dedication, resilience, and ability to balance rigorous academic and athletic demands is what makes these results possible year after year," said GovState Assistant Athletic Director Chandra Thompson.
