Sophia Flowers 10th in 5K race Saturday March 7 -NAIA Indoor Track Nationals - NAIA in Gainesville, Florida
GovState Head Coach John Niendorf comments on Sophia's school record-setting race at NAIA Nationals.
"I couldn't be more impressed with Sophia Flowers. As a freshman she beat her own school 5k record with her time of 17:34. She finished 10th in the country in the event. She ran a gutsy race and didn't back down to the competition at all. It was impressive to see such a brave race ran by the young distance runner. This young woman made the coaching staff, her teammates, and GSU proud today. I can't wait to see what outdoor season holds in store for the up-and-coming freshman, Sophia Flowers," Coach Niendorf said.
