ST. ANNE, IL – The Governors State women's golf team opened its third varsity season Friday at the Olivet Nazarene Fall Invitational.

The Jaguars did not score at the seven-team event that saw Bellevue (321) jump to a first day lead ahead of William Penn (329) and host Olivet Nazarene (341).

GSU's Kendall Paris made her college debut by shooting a team-low round of 107. GSU was also represented by Emily Bell, who carded a 124.

"We're still a work in progress but today's play was encouraging," said GSU Head Coach Mark Haines. "Once we get a full lineup in place, I think we will be in good shape."

Saturday's closing round at the Kankakee Elks Country Club begins at 7:30 a.m.
